Management and Key Personnel
 
Jeffrey J. May has served as the Company's Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors since December 2006. Mr. May has extensive experience in the semiconductor industry spanning more than 25 years. Establishing himself in management at Advantek in 1980, Mr. May transitioned a small importer of capital equipment into a global market leader in specialized semiconductor handling materials with revenue in excess of $130M and more than 650 employees in 4 countries. In 1997, Mr. May formed Gideons Point Capital to provide consulting and angel investing for technology based companies. Through Gideons Point and private investments, Mr. May has served and currently serves on the Boards of multiple companies addressing technology markets. Mr. May received his B.S in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1983.

Dr. Scott A. Irwin has served as the Company's Chief Technical Officer since December 2006, and Chairman of the Board since its inception in 2003. He also previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Irwin has over 19 years experience in advanced systems and integrated circuit development and executive-level management. From February 1991 to August 1997, Dr. Irwin was employed by Rockwell International Corporation in its Avionics and Communications division. He served in various technical capacities, most recently as Manager, Embedded Computer Technology in its Advanced Technology Center. From August 1997 to November 2000, Dr. Irwin served as Director of Engineering and Vice President, Engineering for RocketChips, Inc. His responsibilities included product definition, technical strategy and IC development, including infrastructure, CAD, engineering staffing and outside suppliers. From RocketChips' acquisition by Xilinx Inc. in November 2000 until August 2003, Dr. Irwin served as Engineering Director in Xilinx's Communications Technology Division, where he was responsible for high-speed, serial transceiver development for next generation FPGA products. Dr. Irwin received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University in 1985, 1987 and 1990, respectively.

Matthew S. Shafer Director of Product Development, and a member of the Board of Directors since its inception in September 2003. From May 1998 to November 2000, Mr. Shafer served as a Senior Design Engineer for RocketChips, Inc. His responsibilities included IC design, simulation, layout and verification, as well as product definition, assembly and characterization of its high-speed serial transceiver products. From RocketChips' acquisition by Xilinx, Inc. in November 2000 until August 2003, Mr. Shafer served as Manager of Signal Integrity and Characterization in the Communication Technology Division of Xilinx. His responsibilities included managing signal integrity research and development, modeling, simulation and characterization, as well as application and customer support of high-speed serial transceivers. Mr. Shafer received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University in 1995 and 1997, respectively.

John D. Stafford joined MagnaLynx in 2004 shortly after the formation of the company serving as Vice President of Marketing. With more than 18 years of experience at NEC America, Mr. Stafford contributes to the Company's growth on many levels. His background includes engineering, product management, business development, sales and marketing in the Telecommunications and Data Communications fields. Mr. Stafford is responsible for strategic marketing and business planning, business development, and public and press relations for MagnaLynx. Mr. Stafford received his B.S. Degree in Broadcasting from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville in 1985.


Outside Directors

Richard C. Perkins, CFA, has served as outside Director of the Company since April 2004. Mr.Perkins is Executive Vice President and Portfolio Manager of Perkins Capital Management, Inc. and has over 27 years experience in the investment business. He graduated from Colby College, Waterville, Maine, in 1975 receiving a BA degree with Distinction in two majors: Administrative Science and Mathematics/ Economics. While at Colby College, he was awarded the Ernest L. Parsons Prize in Administrative Science and the James J. Harris Prize in Administrative Science. He was elected a Senior Scholar in Econometrics by the Economics Department. He began his business career with General Mills, Inc., as a Grain Merchandiser. He was an Investment Executive with Piper, Jaffray & Hopwood, Incorporated, Minneapolis, Minnesota for twelve years, where he specialized in equity securities. Involved in the community, Mr. Perkins has served as the President of the Board of Directors, YMCA Camp Olson, Rochester, Minnesota since 2003 and from 1983-1986.

C. McKenzie (Mac) Lewis III has served as outside Director of the Company since March 2005. Mr.Lewis is a Partner at the Sherpa Partners investment firm in Minneapolis, MN. Prior to founding Sherpa Partners in 1997, he was the Managing General Partner at Minnesota Management Partners, a venture capital fund focused on local emerging growth companies. From 1986 through 1995 he was President and CEO of Computer Network Technology (CNT) where he led CNT from no revenue to nearly $80 million in annual sales. CNT, a data communications product company, was financed through both private and public transactions, with sales growth exceeding 40 percent in 8 of 10 years and continuous profitability for the last 7 years. Prior to his tenure with CNT, Mr. Lewis was the founder and CEO of The Systems Center, a software product company. His background also includes 14 years with IBM in management, sales, systems engineering and product management. He serves on the boards of several midwest early stage companies, including Aventium Labs, Eridon, MagnaLynx and SearchAmerica as well as the Board of Minnesota High Technology Association. Mr. Lewis is a graduate of Princeton University.
